A new chip era, a new era of lossless Bluetooth

The BTR17 is equipped with Qualcomm’s new flagship QCC5181 Bluetooth chip, which not only complies with the Bluetooth LE Audio standard and has a transmission bandwidth capacity of 2.1Mbps, but also is capable of lossless quality within the aptX Adaptive system. This means the chip is capable of achieving CD-level lossless sound quality over Bluetooth audio, bringing you ever closer to the music with all of its intricate details.
Additionally, the BTR17 also supports the latest Bluetooth standard – Bluetooth 5.4. It also supports the LDAC, aptX Adaptive 96kHz/24bit, and aptX Low Latency Bluetooth audio codecs, which when combined with Snapdragon Sound technology means your Bluetooth listening experience has never sounded this good before.

Dual cores and four channels, dual flagship ES9069Q DACs

Inside the BTR17 are two ESS ES9069Q DACs based on the fourth-generation 32-bit HyperStream architecture, achieving high performance while using less power. This architecture helps to further reduce digital noise within the DAC. The result is a richer, musical sound against a cleaner audio background.

XMOS 16-core XU316, cleverly innovating

The USB chip employed is the flagship XMOS XU316, which boasts lower latency, more stable transmission, and better compatibility than typically used USB controllers. Support for 768kHz/32bit audio, DSD512 native, and MQA full decoding means that the chip can handle almost any audio stream that comes its way.

FiO engineers have worked constantly to create 10-band high-precision lossless PEQ based on the XU316 platform, which supports up to 192k high-definition PEQ and can be adjusted through the app and web interface. Not only does it allow you to finely adjust EQ frequency points, gain, bandwidth, and Q value to your liking, and simulate or correct the frequency response curve of various headphones, but you can also import, export, share, and save EQ curves, enabling everyone to enjoy the fun of tuning.

Dual Hi-Res 32-Bit DAC Chips

In order to provide high-resolution audio signal processing and decoding, FiiO has featured a high-end dual-DAC chipset on the BTR17. It comes equipped with dual ES9069Q DAC chips which support fourth-generation 32-bit HyperStream architecture. It promises class-leading performance with amazing dynamic range and SNR performance.

3rd Generation 16-Core XMOS USB Processor

Along with wireless Bluetooth, the FiiO BTR17 also supports Hi-Res wired audio processing as well. It comes equipped with a 3rd generation XMOS XU316 16-core USB processor which has low latency and more stable wired signal transmission. It also has better compatibility than other ordinary USB chips supporting up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD512 audio signal processing. It also supports MQA decoding and has easy connectivity with different devices.

Patented Desktop Mode With Independent Power Supply

FiiO BTR17 features patented desktop mode, you can connect it to outer power while using and turn the independent D.Mode Switch on. It has a strong 650mW per channel output in this high-power desktop mode. The independent power supply mode completely bypasses the power intake from the connected source device and avoids overflow of the current in the circuit.

Multi-function switch

On the BTR17 is a convenient PC/BT/PHONE three-position switch which allows it to seamlessly switch between operating modes. Switching modes allow the BTR17 to optimise its power supply status according to the device connected, making it perfect for various use cases.

• PC: The device is completely powered by the computer.
• BT (Bluetooth DAC and amp): The device is powered by the internal battery, and when connected to USB can be used for charging and power supply.
• PHONE (phone dongle): The device’s internal battery participates in the power supply, reducing the power consumed by the connected phone.
• XMOS 16-core technology: The XMOS chip employed is the flagship XMOS XU316, which boasts lower latency, more stable transmission, and better compatibility than typically used USB controllers.

FiiO BTR17 comes equipped with a THX AA78+ amp chipset that produces a strong output thrust on the device. In desktop mode, the BTR17 delivers a ferocious 650mW per channel output.
