Description
Ananda Unveiled
The term “Unveiled” literally means “removing the veil.” This technology was first applied in the 2024 HIFIMAN SUSVARA headphones. Since the grille structure causes acoustic interference to the diaphragm of the driver unit, the Ananda Unveiled adopted the Unveiled technology to deliver a pure and clean sound. The fully open-back design of this planar magnetic headphone eliminates the negative sound effects of sound wave reflection, an obstacle that impairs sound quality.
Supernano Diaphragm Gen 2Â
Hifiman Ananda Unveiled also features new drivers, a large planar magnetic driver, now with a thinner, lighter-weight diaphragm. Supernano Gen 2 diaphragms are only 60% of the thickness of the already incredibly thin previous Supernano models. These new for 2025 Ultra-Thin Diaphragms improve responsiveness, providing improved audio quality, detail and resolution across the frequency spectrum.
Enhanced Magnets technology has been introduced as well. Hifiman is proud to have developed new Enhanced Magnets – using permanent magnetic materials, these provide the same force as previous versions, but now without using any rare earth materials
Window Shade Design
Traditional headphones use a mesh with a lower opening ratio for the grill, which leads to reflections and refractions detrimental to sound quality. The incredibly light nanometer-thick diaphragm is easily disturbed by sound waves reflected/refracted by the mesh. Therefore, HIFIMAN uses a window shade design to increase the opening rate, maximise the grill exposure and reduce the probability of reflection and refraction. The result: dramatically improved sound quality.
However, this window shade design cannot completely avoid reflection and refraction. Only by eliminating the window shade + grill design will near-lossless sound quality be achieved.
Magnetic Veils
Specially designed Magnetic Veils have been introduced to protect the fully open drivers of the Ananda Unveiled.
Enhanced Magnet
HIFIMAN’s new Ananda Unveiled uses rare-earth-free permanent magnet materials with a precisely engineered shape that reduces distortion and improves sound clarity. This design achieves sensitivity and control on par with rare-earth magnets, while offering a more sustainable, environmentally friendly approach without compromising the planar magnetic performance HIFIMAN is known for.
