The PAW S2 uses the same architecture Lotoo employs in its DAPs (namely PAW Gold Touch and PAW6000), so you can consider it to be an ultra-small DAP without storage. Powered by the now legendary AKM4377 DAC chip and coupled with the full suite of Lotoo’s advanced audio technologies, PAW S2 has raised the bar again in comparison with its forebear: the amazing Lotoo PAW S1.

New OTG cable

Lotoo has also developed a new OTG cable with 2 different lengths (65 cm and 80 cm). So placement of the PAW S2 with the belt clip has become much easier. The multi-core OTG cable is exclusively made for Lotoo.

Controls

Also new in comparison with the Lotoo PAW S1 are the controls on the unit for volume and skipping or pausing of tracks.

High-Performance and High DAC Chip Utilization

If we take a closer look at the audio specs, the background noise for the S1 measures just -123dBu, a performance superior to that of most high-priced DAPs. It’s the same for the THD+N of the Lotoo PAW S2, which, at -109dB, again makes it the winner over most expensive DAPs in the market and easily outperforms most USB dongle DACs. Once more, this is close or equal to the datasheet value of the DAC chip which is also -109 dB. Lotoo’s engineering team have striven to extract every bit of the AKM4377 DAC chip’s capacity, leaving nothing wasted in order to ensure the highest possible performance from the class-leading hardware we use.
