Sonus Faber always found its inspiration in the highest Italian culture. This time we entrusted the history of our Literature for representing the new Sonetto Collection.
The Sonetto (Sonnet) is the most ancient Italian Poetic structure. Originally it meant “Sound, Melody“and was traditionally used to accompany music performances. The first step in the Sonus Faber world brings the name of the foundations of Literature history in Italy and in the rest of the world.
The silk dome tweeter with the DAD™ (Damped Apex Dome™) technology is placed in the centre channels’ front panel, with two 150 mm midranges with the natural fibre and paper blend air-dried diaphragm and the Sonus Faber die-cast basket. Once again the combination of these drivers, made with natural materials, ensures the typical timber of the brand and make the “Voice of Sonus Faber”.
According to the typical clean design language and elegant proportions of the collection, the centre channels’ front baffle is an integral part of the cabinet creating a seamless structure with curved sides. The gun-metal finished aluminium aesthetic rings, that frame the new drivers, are the only elements that break this continuity.
The lute shape that characterizes most of the Sonus faber models, offers a solution that ensures no internal parallel surfaces and a perfect control over internal resonances.
For an optimal lowest frequencies reproduction, a special aluminum alloy diaphragm has been designed. It allows an ultra-fast, tight and yet deep bass performance.
