The SR-009, the origin of STAX’s current high-end models, has made a triumphant return. After its production ceased with the arrival of a new flagship, countless requests from fans worldwide have brought this legendary earspeaker back. The SR-009D is the return of the iconic model that led the high-end headphone culture for a long time, now available at a more accessible price with updated features, making it the perfect gateway to the world of highend electrostatic audio.
At the core of the SR-009D is the MLER (Multi-Layer-Electrode) technology, a groundbreaking innovation that originated with the SR-009. This technology utilizes a fixed electrode formed by unifying three stainless steel plates at the atomic level through thermal diffusion bonding, without the use of any adhesives.
This process results in a fixed electrode with exceptional planarity, low resonance, and high sound wave transmission, delivering a sound that is both incredibly detailed and transparent, setting a new standard for audio reproduction.
The SR-009D features a detachable and replaceable cable structure, a standard in the current STAX lineup, which enhances usability and allows for future upgrades and easy maintenance.
The newly developed injection-molded unit case reduces the overall weight of the earspeaker, ensuring a comfortable listening experience even for extended periods. The headpad features a 10-step click mechanism, allowing for a perfect fit for a wide range of head shapes. The body color, cable material, and unit case have also been updated from the original model, combining legendary performance with modern convenience.
