In 2024, portable audio has become an integral part of many people’s lives. To make it easier for more people to get started without the need to carry an extra DAP, AROMA Audio has decided to launch the portable type-C DAC “Xuanwu”.
We have noticed that most people today are comfortable using what is colloquially known as a “dongle” DAC to achieve better sound quality. To allow these individuals to enjoy even better audio quality in the most compact form, we have spent several years developing and creating the “Xuanwu”.
Named after one of the Chinese mythological creatures, “Xuanwu” features an exterior design inspired by the shape of a tortoise shell and uses a fully metal assembly for the casing, making it exceptionally sturdy. This inspiration led us to choose “Xuanwu” as the product name.
The casing material is 6061-T6 aerospace aluminium alloy, crafted using CNC cutting technology. This alloy is commonly used in the construction of aircraft bodies and engine parts, known for its high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent weldability, and corrosion resistance. Using this metal material for the casing ensures both lightness and robustness.
AROMA Audio “Xuanwu” employs dual CS43198 decoding chips, supporting audio formats up to PCM 32bit 768KHz and DSD256, which can meet the demands of most audio files and streaming platforms. “Xuanwu” supports 3.5mm and 4.4mm output terminals, catering to the needs of most wired in-ear headphone products.
As a new project from AROMA Audio, we hope that “Xuanwu” will allow more people to enjoy higher-quality sound and reignite their pursuit of audio quality. For other audiophiles, “Xuanwu” can also satisfy your portable experience, capable of driving most in-ear headphones. “Xuanwu” is designed to be a pioneering role, providing a product that new portable audio users can easily use without compromising on sound quality.
