Expansive 3D soundstage
Each Umbral earcup is carved from hand-selected walnut. Beyond its visual elegance-its organic grain, warm tone, and unique individuality-walnut dampens unwanted resonances and introduces a gentle warmth to the sound, enriching atmosphere and spatial depth.
The open-back design gives sound more space to expand. It delivers better separation, and more
precise layering. The listener perceives a genuine sense of space-wide, deep, and convincingly
three-dimensional.
Breathable, pressure-balanced comfort
By equalizing pressure on both sides of the earcup, Umbral avoids the heat buildup common to closed designs. The result is long-form comfort that feels airy and unobtrusive, ideal for extended listening.

96 mm Planar Magnetic Driver + UM MEMS Micro-Actuator Precision Meets Speed, Scale Meets Detail
At the heart of Umbral is an innovative dual-driver topology pairing a 96 mm large planar magnetic driver with UM’s proprietary low-voltage MEMS micro-electromechanical driver. The two units complement one another: one delivers scale and authority, the other speed and ultra-fine detail.

UM MEMS Micro-Electromechanical Driver

Manufactured using semiconductor-grade processes, the MEMS driver features an ultrathin architecture with exception-ally fast response times, extremely low distortion, and superb linearity across the upper registers.
Its extension reaches up to 80 kHz, preserving the shimmer of cymbals, the breath of strings, and the micro textures that lend recordings their emotional nuance.

96 mm Planar Magnetic Driver

A Foundation Built for Power and Refinement
High-flux magnetic circuit + carbon-fiber frame
The magnetic array increases flux density and efficiency, giving the diaphragm precise control-even during de-manding low-frequency passages.
Gold-nanofilm diaphragm with ultra-low resonance (<70 Hz)
This bespoke diaphragm integrates a nanometer-scale film with a gold foil voice coil to achieve exceptional
flexibility and control. It delivers:
